We accept string | Array<string> | Array<Array<string>>
as build
in package.json
.
string
— means execute single commandArray<string>
— execute multiple commands, each command being a string (commands with args) but you have to make sure you quote args right inpackage.json
Array<Array<string>>
— execute multiple commands, each command being an array where command name and args are separate items in an array. Esy takes care of quoting then.

So to address your example:
"esy": {
"build": [
[
"make build",
],
...
means execute a command make build
with no args. While ["make", "build"]
means execute a command make
with build
as the single arg.

I see, thank you. I think this could be addressed in the eventual documentation.
