I agree, although what is used I would prefer to see the while skin(maybe the head beside the name in the logs?)

Yea, minotar is pretty slow nowadays, especially when fetching many different avatars. Even their homepage takes 30+ seconds to load for me...

Cravatar is pretty good (likely because its not as widely used, yet), but doesn't offer the full-skin support (for the 3d model) that minotar does. Instead, you can use http://skins.minecraft.net/MinecraftSkins/Absentee23.png to get them directly from Minecraft.net. The model should definitely be kept IMO.

Sorry I've been so inactive on BungeeWeb recently - I've been busy with other projects, but I still want to get BungeeWeb to 0.2. :)

I've partially added Cravatar, for heads, but for now I've had to keep Minotar for the skins. This is because the client is the one that fetches the skin - not the server - and so it's bound to the Cross Origin Policy. It looks like, for whatever reason, skins.minecraft.net doesn't allow us to pull skins from it, due to this policy. :(

Any ideas for alternatives?
