Hmm, what would you propose to be in the gitignore?

Why should this be something that express-generator handles? Seems quite user-specific.

Right. I'm not 100% sold on the idea, because it's extending beyond Express and something that is VCS-specific (what if a user uses mercurial?), but something we can thank on, because git seems to be a de-facto for Node.js users, it seems (though I have some Node.js stuff tracked in TFS).

If anything, the contents can probably just be one from https://github.com/github/gitignore

I'm going to add it as an optional thing (a --git command line arg) for now.
