Agreed - for the exact reason you gave; can't dynamically iterate files consistently, such as handing off to Angular or Sequalize or a custom need. I have a fix as part of cleaning up other errors but am tied up with a project with a deadline right now. The fix I have won't be activated by default in order to retain backwards compatibility but will be activated by passing-in an option definition, currently called options.putSingleFilesInArray. If you think there's a better name for it, then let me know. I'm hoping to get back into multer in a week to two weeks. I'll update this post when I have this feature in (unless someone else beats me to it! :).

@chronotc ... Finally got the putSingleFilesInArray functionality in Multer. Github master is updated. Waiting for Multer version 0.1.8 to be put on npm. The README docs will describe its use.
