LitLearn User Testing Sprint 1

Introduction

Thank you for helping us today. We're on a coding course up the road in Bethnal Green. If you're interested in learning to code, you can ask us more about it.

This is a student project we've been working on for a couple of weeks. It's unfinished, and we're looking to learn more about how people interact with it, before planning the next stage of the development.

Just so you know, Rachael/Jen here will be taking notes. Don't worry, we're not taking notes on your answers, we're taking notes on how you use the app. My name is Jen/Rachael, I’m a developer on the application, the application we're working on is a tool to help GCSE students prepare for their English exams.

Explanation

I’d like to show you the application first. (show them home page). I’m going to give you a few tasks to do from the our home page. It's a very free exercise so there are no right or wrong ways of doing things, this is not about you getting something wrong or right, we're looking to learn about the application. So that we know how you're finding it, we want you to talk aloud whatever you're thinking. So as you explore it, tell us anything that comes into your mind. And don't worry, we're not here to judge your English exam skills!

1. Imagine you are a student practicing for their GCSE exam. Show us how you would answer a question.
2. Now imagine you would like to answer a different question. Show us how you would answer a new random question.
3. Now imagine you would like to answer a different question. Show us how you would select a new question.
4. Finally, show us how you would get information about your progress.
