Users top three pain points using application.
- wants to select each option, can't unselect - didn't see reset button (it's at the bottom), natural feeling you should be able to one - grey out the unselected
- styling: make sure text containers and buttons stylistically different; relative font sizes
- more explanation of why I'm using it

Additional observations section.
- would like more of an 'about' would be helpful - why use it, how it helps, what it is
- fonts didn't come out properly in this demo - maybe
- chose to select a question
- not sure about options - which to pick - like the colours - tries to pick them all
- make question look clickable (not a menu item)
- intro: title is disproportionately big
- some overflow - e.g. menu at the bottom...
- looked at question
- text size is small (doesn't look at greyed out prompt)
- buttons at bottom same styling as multi-click
- what to expect - maybe a button to say 'I've done this - to keep reloading'
- aesthetics of the overflow
- decimals of minutes not so helpful

Additional observations section.
- Slight issues on home screen with scrolling - needs to be fixed with styling

- questions do not look clickable after submitting the question choices
- not clear that the questions appear under the selection option
- Likes having text again at before the question
- thinks medal means that the answer is correct
- Possibly not clear that light bulb means help initially
- can't go home from question choice page

- clarity of the question being clickable
User's profile
Founder & Coders
Additional observations section.
- Immediately wants to choose all selections to get a question.
- Understands each of the types of choices but was confused with
- could not find question choices on submit (as you have to scroll)
- Not clear that question choice is clickable
- Likes the text above the multichoice
- need to cancel predictive test as autocorrects Shakespear
- Curious what the lightbulb does but not immediately obvious that it is a hint
- Good that you get the small extract so is more easy to get to grips with. Although found himself trying to give the extract context. Perhaps say which act & scene?
- Would like to have a way of assessing responses - understands subjective nature of marking English exams may make this difficult
- would be nice to see previous questions completed
- Interested in seeing graphical display of multiplechoice questions from other users

Introduction
Thank you for helping us today. We're on a coding course up the road in Bethnal Green. If you're interested in learning to code, you can ask us more about it.
This is a student project we've been working on for a couple of weeks. It's unfinished, and we're looking to learn more about how people interact with it, before planning the next stage of the development.
Just so you know, Rachael/Jen here will be taking notes. Don't worry, we're not taking notes on your answers, we're taking notes on how you use the app. My name is Jen/Rachael, I’m a developer on the application, the application we're working on is a tool to help GCSE students prepare for their English exams.
Explanation
I’d like to show you the application first. (show them home page). I’m going to give you a few tasks to do from the our home page. It's a very free exercise so there are no right or wrong ways of doing things, this is not about you getting something wrong or right, we're looking to learn about the application. So that we know how you're finding it, we want you to talk aloud whatever you're thinking. So as you explore it, tell us anything that comes into your mind. And don't worry, we're not here to judge your English exam skills!
- Imagine you are a student practicing for their GCSE exam. Show us how you would answer a question.
- Now imagine you would like to answer a different question. Show us how you would answer a new random question.
- Now imagine you would like to answer a different question. Show us how you would select a new question.
- Finally, show us how you would get information about your progress.
Afterwards
How did you find using the application? Did anything stick out for you that you’d like to share?
Wrap Up
Have you used any online revision tools? Which ones? What sort of things did you do on them?
Thank-you!
