I'm not able to reproduce this. I tried masking a view in all orientations and the mask appeared in the correct place. The mask command converts the rect of the masked view to the window's coordinate system. So if for some reason one of the views in the path from the window to the target isn't being rotated, then the coordinate systems will get out of sync and the mask command won't work.
