test failure related to symlink on xfs (travis linux) and mac

The mac does detect the loop:

not sure how d/e/a ends up there on the mac when it complained about src/d

may need to run with -v

the without follow symlink says

may or may not be same issue but inside travis the test fails also because of symlinks (different output though it goes into the symlinks in a loop)

we can stop setting WDT_TEST_SYMLINKS=0 once this is fixed

on travis the failure is because of tmp being xfs and we have a bug there (related to DT_UNKNOWN)
