I don't know how it works in Angular, but you can set the content of a surface to a DOM element. So you could also record relevant parameters from that DOM element (size, position, etc), detach it from the DOM, and then have Famous reinsert it for you as part of a Surface.

We are working on having Famo.us Surfaces target existing DOM nodes in a future release. This will widely open up Famo.us integration with existing projects. For now, as @gadicc said, you can call .setContent on a Surface with either an HTML string, HTML, or a documentFragment. A template can render this for you (using whatever tool you like, Handlerbars, Moustache, etc), and you just have to pass it to the Surface.
