@shinokada Have you solved this problem? I am doing the same thing.It shows me error when I run this image.
useradd: warning: the home directory already exists.
Not copying any file from skel directory into it.
mkdir: cannot create directory '/home/ubuntu/.config': Permission denied

solution found 👍
the container creates the temporary user ubuntu on startup but doesn't have full access
if run something under root (password is ubuntu) , it has internet access without problems

example

#open terminal and try to run
ping www.google.com
#then try
sudo ping www.google.com

same if you try to run

sudo firefox

from a terminal.

As i wanted something quick, i didn't look how to set proper permissions to the ubuntu user
(which will be the proper solution)
