Intellisense is "Unable to open" "Unable to read file" "Error: Unable to resolve non-existing file" after a directory is renamed in PHP Project

I think I managed to resolve the issue. I simply removed the files generated by the PHP Language Server by performing the following commands on the WSL-Linux file system and then on the Windows File System.

• Close VSCode

• From the WSL Linux distro command-line interface (if you have one or using VSCode in WSL):
  rm -f ~/.phpls/*

• From the Windows Command Line Prompt:
  del /F /Q /S "%LocalAppData%\PHP Language Server\*"

Then reopen your workspace and/or files then try again. You can keep an eye on the "PHP Language Server" or ".phpls" directories and see the files being built again from scratch, so keep in mind it takes a little while depending on your computer's speed.

This worked for me, YMMV.
