Can you check the content of the ProxyContainer state with the react devtools?
Is there any issue with the keys ?

Yup. It does, indeed, look like they are the same.

What's weird is there's only one journal-menu on the page anyway. And it only has 2 list items. But it looks like these elements were being created 5 times. Maybe one for each render or something?

OMG forgot to remove the context menu from the container when it's unmounted
