Browserify cache remains persistant between calls

This should be a gulp-plugin:

gulp.src('**/*.js')
    .pipe(watch())
    .pipe(clearCache())
    .pipe(browserify())

It works partially: it copies the changed file straight to dest (which, well, isn't the wanted behavior haha). I'm (still) trying to get this task working:

 module.exports = gulp.task('modules', function() {

  gulp.src(path.modules.src)
  .pipe(watch(function(files) {
    return files
    .pipe(grep('**/index.js'))
    .pipe(debug())
    .pipe(browserify({
      buffer: false,
      debug: true
    }))
  }))
  //.pipe(rename(path.modules.rename))
  .pipe(gulp.dest(path.modules.dest));
});

I think the tricky part is that a single file gets served to browserify while a whole folder is watched to trigger the action.
