Talk about an edge case. Good find :)

I think maybe doing:

d.setFullYear( d.getFullYear() + Math.ceil( tickSize ) );

...might be better since even if tickSize is > 1 it might still be 1.3, and if the
unit is 'year' then we want to advance by a whole year.

Actually it looks like this might have been fixed in the most recent revision:

if (unit == "year")
d.setUTCFullYear(floorInBase(d.getUTCFullYear(), tickSize));

// round to nearby lower multiple of base
function floorInBase(n, base) {
return base * Math.floor(n / base);
}

Yes, I hit this problem myself at one point. I get no loops with this dataset and the
SVN release. Thanks to both of you.
