Most of these don't appear to actually be identical to any version of the minecraft textures I can find(though some do). I probably just can't find the right version.

No need for them to be good while developing, just open up any imaging software, color something green, pick a bit darker green and hit random noise, presto grass.

@fogleman I made an open source texture pack a while back to solve this problem, if you are interested: https://github.com/deathcap/ProgrammerArt - may not be the prettiest, but it is freely usable (Creative Commons Zero)
