You could maybe look into using fontforge server side to generate the fonts (iconic has example scripts for it).

Cool project by the way :) I was looking at starting something similar for personal (or if anyone wanted to use it) use. I've put together a font for a css framework we've been working on internally you are more than welcome to use if you'd like. The icons come from free / public domain / open source sources (with a few I made) so you'd have to stick with the same licensing (though doesn't seem to be a problem ).

The icons I didn't create are from the following sources

interface framework
the noun project and
modern pictograms

if you'd like to attribute them.

All the characters are mapped to the private space for accessibility (with some sass extensions for use in sass/compass/etc projects). If you like/want to use it I can generate svg's when I have a little free time, or you could just deconstruct the svg version :)
