... you mean the title tag? You can edit that in your templates (template index portal showthread forumdisplay and so on)

well it didn't do that before until I installed the seo

Google SEO does not change your title tags - the documentation has some suggestions (like for putting page numbers in them) but otherwise it's well left alone.

Well then the only thing I can think of is, could be because Drupal is running on primary domain and forums is in subfolder like example.com/forums

Again, you can edit the title tags in your templates. It's not plugin related. For example showthread template starts with html - head - title. If you have the site name in there, remove it. Same for forumdisplay, index, portal and such.
