It might be worth noting that the following query works just fine:
query {
for row in db.``[main].[sometable]`` do
select row.NAME.TrimEnd(null)
from sqlprovider.
This should be fixed now, thanks a lot for the report! This new projection code is largely untested simply due to the sheer size of the LINQ expression tree possibilities. It turns out in this case that when constructing a new array expression, the type you pass it should be the type to make an array from, rather than the type of the array - so in this case it wanted to be passed char rather than char[]. As this code is effectively rebuilding the projection tree with a chance to transform it along the way, it was simply passing whatever the type was from the existing new array expression, which apparently gets changed to char[] from char after construction!
Please confirm this works so we can close this :)
