Ok, I figured out what was going on but I am still confused as to why it happens. The buffer is getting filled with so many queries because of:

while(-1 != PQNB_pool_query(pool, QUERY, test_query_cb2, &counter));

If I change it to:

if(-1 != PQNB_pool_query(pool, QUERY, test_query_cb2, &counter)){ ...

It works. But those two should essentially be equivalent, in that they only add at most one query to the pool.

Hello @MattiKemp, the library supports by default 2048 buffered queries, your while loop is filling the query buffer until it reaches the limit.
PQNB_pool_run is gonna try to run as much queries as possible by reusing non busy connections, this is why you were querying more than once.
Keep calling PQNB_pool_run everytime your epoll_fd has new events.

Oh duh, I must have misread the conditional as: -1 == PQNB_pool_query(pool, QUERY, test_query_cb2, &counter). Oops. Thank you for the help and nice library.
