Update: I was able to find this instance in another region on my EC2 account and terminate it. However, attempting to delete the instance inside the cloudlaunch interface failed prior to terminating inside EC2.

It would be helpful to notify users the region in which their appliance is located.

The unable to check status message occurs because you didn't select to store the credentials on CloudLaunch, hence it cannot check the status of the instance.

The region in which the resources are created is something you select on the first page of the launch process, although displaying it on the list of instances page could certainly be added and useful.
