Ok now it happened with the clean version of the skywars plugin

I can reproduce it,I found a way, when the game countdown before the game starts is at 5 seconds and lower and you're trying to join in that time,the plugin just crashes the server with that error.

Maybe make the state of arena be in-game instead of waiting in that time(from 5 seconds and lower)and if needed players are not the max,I mean if needed players are 2 and there is 1/12 players or 4/12 and needed players is 5,the state will be at waiting again.
