I don't know Scala enough to contribute to Gatling code base
I know Clojure and Java which run on JVM
Honestly, Java is close enough to Scala for what's necessary for this piece of code so that you should be perfectly able to contribute to this part of the code. We're not talking about complex pieces like the WebSocket FSM or functional programming.
The entry point is here.
In order to compile, you'll have to install sbt and run sbt compile.
