Just to let other people know, if you are using lazy.nvim, and you try to load the plugin with opts = {}, it will fail with the same error as above, you have to manually invoke .setup() in a config block.

I can't manage to reproduce for the moment.

Have you always had this problem ?
I suspect an issue in packer, can you try to update packer and try again ?

Can you also try to setup after the use and tell me if it works:

require("yanky").setup({})

Updating packer did not solve the issue but the setup you proposed fixed the problem :

use("gbprod/yanky.nvim")
require("yanky").setup({})
