This is my styleguide, for my JavaScript projects. Isaac can use whatever styleguide he wants for his. You should pick the rules you prefer for your projects. The point of a styleguide is to specify a specific style -- it's the opposite of "let everyone use their personal choice."

My reasoning for semis is simple (and the same for using the serial-comma in English): it's never, ever incorrect if you use them. Knowing when you need them, and when you don't is needless cognitive overhead, particularly for people new to JavaScript. I just want to write good, idiomatic JavaScript code that is easy for everyone in the community to read and use.

Absolutely. :) I hesitated to answer because the semis and no-semis debate has gone on and on, and most people don't change their minds about their positions even after hearing all the back-and-forth.
