traces_sample_rate only has an effect on capturing performance transactions. It should not have any effect on the tracing integration itself, and info!() and error!() logs should still be captured regardless.

side-note: it's a bit strange that in order to allow tracing::info to be reported as breadcrumbs one has to set traces_sameple_rate to a non-zero value.

in our project we do not want sentry performance monitoring, only the AWESOME feature of having traces be reported as issues/breadcrumbs. unfortunately setting traces_sample_rate automatically enables performance monitoring. and we have to have it set to "some value other than 0" in order to get breadcrumbs/errors :/

in my opinion it should be enough to tracing_subscriber::registry().with(sentry_tracing::layer()) and this should work

@Swatinem you are right! i stand corrected. without setting the traces_sample_rate the breadcrumbs are captured, errors reported, and logs output to stdout. thanks for the prompt response 🙏
