fortran bootstrap is failing on the gcc commands. Not sure if I want to bother submitting issue in netcdf-c library. Switched to installing the stand-alone NetCDF-Fortran, but that's not working do to what appears to be problems with NetCDF-C install (see #5). So I'm re-installing NetCDF.
was not downloading the necessary input data from cesm due to netcdf problem

I think this has to do with admin privleges to download? I think the git error is a red herring. Will try sudo make build-netcdf-fortran
I've taken to removing the whole netcdf install folder each time I iterate on ./configure
. I don't think I need to be this draconian, but I'm not sure how else to clear the configuration. Haven't looked at the configure
command for help yet though.
