What's your glew version? You need at least 1.5.8. 1.5.8 and 1.6.0 are known to be working. I haven't tested 1.7.0 yet.

$ apt-cache policy libglew1.5
libglew1.5:
Installed: 1.5.2-0ubuntu1
So, 1.5.2 is on lucid (10.04, long term support) maverick (10.10),
1.5.7 is on natty (11.04) and just oneiric, (11.10, not out yet) will
have 1.6.0.
Is is possible to make this work with glew 1.5.2? being able to use
the package in ubuntu would be very nice.

You need to remove missing functions and correct some types. If you do so, it probably won't be compatible with GLEW 1.5.8 anymore.

Had this issue. Uninstalled all glew 1.5 from my pc and reinstalled the 1.6 versions. Works fine now

Closing, since the version requirement is mentioned in the README.
