aws-deployment-docs's Introduction

AWS Deployment Guide

These instructions assume that you have already bought your domain name through namecheap.com. Additionally, these steps are to deploy a V2 full-stack Spring Boot application. If you are deploying a decoupled application using Spring REST and a frontend framework, the deployment instructions linked below should suffice for deploying the backend.

aws-deployment-docs's Issues

Additional README Edits

  • Include instructions to set a budget with an alert for 1 cent or more charge: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cost-management/latest/userguide/budget-templates.html
  • Codeup Amazon Machine Image link from README should open in a new tab
  • Under step 3, confused as to what "Web Server Name" refers to
  • For step 2 part 4, the first inbound rule should specify the source
  • For step 7 part 4 - missing .sh extension
  • For step 8 part 2 point ii "snape" needs to be changed to "snap"
  • For step 8 part 2 - should indicate that a form will need to be filled out

Some general feedback here: I think naming each README file with the "step" naming convention is a little confusing. For each markdown document, multiple number 'steps' start at 1 and go from there. I think it would be easier for people to refer to each of the markdown documents as "parts" instead of "steps" and that way, the "steps" are the numbered bullets within each "part" document.
