Okay the current tools are updated and that seems to be exactly the problem.
I assume the files and built instructions were made for an way older version of SWIG and AndroidNDK and now do not work anymore.
I already noticed that the instructions were "incomplete" or outdated at some points and I had to write workarounds for them.

The problem here is that no application.mk is provided importing the prebuilt NDK libraries and also setting every other important option.
This is not covered in the doc so I totally forgot about it.

Even though it is written at the beginning of the documentation that it is outdated... well it might be very confusing and repelling for beginners trying to get in.

Hm, this is strange.

#include
#include

refer to standard C++ header files, I believe. Does your include path have
the directory with the standard headers? That might be a place to start.

Yes, the Android development environment has been rapidly evolving, and our
build instructions are somewhat behind. If you would like to submit a pull
request with updated documentation, we (and everyone to follow) would
appreciate it! The documentation source can be found here:

Did you try building on the command line? See what happens with this base
case. The IDE throws another layer of complexity to debug in your
environment.

cd liquidfun/Box2D
ndk-build
