@wangela, did you have time to take a look at the issue?

Currently, V.1.1.41 is not deployed on NPM. You still have a very old version there, 1.1.35 (from 2 years ago)

We cannot handle the google.maps.Marker deprecation cause of that.

@wangela, since the last version released on GitHub is already v.1.1.41, I believe some automated task to publish on NPM might not been working properly

Same here. Was trying to upgrade the current version due to the warn in console:

As of February 21st, 2024, google.maps.Marker is deprecated. Please use google.maps.marker.AdvancedMarkerElement instead. At this time, google.maps.Marker is not scheduled to be discontinued, but google.maps.marker.AdvancedMarkerElement is recommended over google.maps.Marker. While google.maps.Marker will continue to receive bug fixes for any major regressions, existing bugs in google.maps.Marker will not be addressed. At least 12 months notice will be given before support is discontinued. Please see https://developers.google.com/maps/deprecations for additional details and https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/advanced-markers/migration for the migration guide.

Also having this holding me back.

Is there any alternative to update to the lastest version, while npm is still not updating?

@Cafnio Have not tested this yet, but I think you can do npm install [email protected]:googlemaps/react-wrapper.git

Alternatively, take a look at the docs from NPM
