Yes, also, 0.4.0 is a very broken release. I'd suggest sticking to the release in pypi for now. I'm working on cleaning up the code, writing tests, documentation, and making a robust release later this week. I'll follow up as soon as I have something substantial. =)

Yes a preview release or something like it would be very much appreciated. The watchmedo tool in the README just looks too awesome not be tried out.
Let me know if i can be of any help besides the bug report above (I found the setuptools bug after a few days of debugging another project, I hope to have saved you some time).

Yep, you've certainly saved me quite a bit of time I would have otherwise spent tracking
this problem. I have excluded README.md from the MANIFEST.in file and included only the README file, which should sort this problem out for watchdog. Thank you so much. =)
