This looks like an issue with your installation of MPI. From similar errors found in other packages, it would seem that the bug is fixed by installing the openmpi-bin package.
Alternatively, if you don't need to use MPI (single machine simulations only, still supports multiple GPUs on the same machine), you can recompile disabling MPI support altogether, with make mpi=0.
Can you please try either of the approaches and confirm the issue fixed if they work?

I remember I already installed openMPI on my machine, but reintsalling it fixed the issue.
