We'll consider this. It has some odd edge cases though.
It would be more of an "auto-update" feature (which I think results in the same thing from your perspective).

Auto-update is a good idea also!
I've used this successfully for auto-saving forms:
- https://github.com/mozilla/localForage + form2js
- triggering local save when no input for 2 seconds (I was already watching keyboard input to use [Tab] & [Shift-Tab] for moving around forms.)

We're not specifically doing auto-save in v3.0 (and I'm not sure we ever will), but we are adding an indicator for unsaved changes, and plan to wire up cmd/ctrl-s saving.

As per the above, ctrl / cmd S and save state indicators are in v3.0
It's not auto-save, but hoping this is close enough.
