I'm confused, you say you changed to Python3 but then say that will import the requests package, which is not built-in for python27
?
H2O-3 can be built with both Python 2 and 3, the libraries you mentioned also support both.
Could you share the errors you're encountering?

@everdark a coworker pinged me that it is indeed a bug in the latest version https://0xdata.atlassian.net/browse/PUBDEV-4249.
A temporary workaround is to change the values in the build script https://github.com/h2oai/h2o-3/blob/master/h2o-py/build.gradle#L11 (both python to python3 and pip to pip3).

in fact i already changed the build.gradle
under h2o-py
(including using python3 and pip3 instead of python and pip) but still encounter the issue i reported, that's the point :)
