The code servers as a means to connect or bridge Shopify to a 3rd party payment processor. It was built and tested with a payment processor company in the Caribbean. Fortunately, it's flexible so it can be used for anything, that is, the data generated during the checkout process can be used for any purpose. There is corresponding documentation of the process of building it and a YouTube video demonstrating it in practice.
