Preferences lost on HB update 😖

This is already supported. As long as you don't jump from a really old version that's pre-JSON based settings, it'll automatically upgrade where possible. Some settings that are overhauled will be reset to defaults.

Settings are archived in the C:%username%\Scott\AppData\Roaming\HandBrake folder if something goes wrong or the file becomes corrupted for any reason.

I did an update from 1.6.? version to 1.7.3 (2024021000) and lost most of my preferences...

1.6 => 1.7 should upgrade fine. We've not had any complaints about this failing so I'm guessing something corrupted the file.

if you find backup files in the location above, you can post them here and we can take a look. If they don't exist, then I'm afraid there isn't anything more we can do.

I have two folders : HandBreak and HandBreak Team !

Don't see any backup for presets.json here...

I redid all my preferences though...
