[Docker-compose v2] Unknown MySQL server host 'mariadb'

This docker image doesn't work properly with docker-compose file v2, I don't know why... Try to update manually the hosts file inside postfix chroot :

echo "172.17.0.xx mariadb" >> /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts

or use docker-compose file v1

its quite curious you say that because, i can ping the mariadb name fine from the postfix container

ping mariadb
PING mariadb.mailserver.rancher.internal (10.42.17.233): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 10.42.17.233: icmp_seq=0 ttl=62 time=0.948 m
from the mailserver even

well hell.... adding the ip and hostname to /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts as suggested did fix maildelivery

I reopen this issue because the problem is not solved, if you restart your container, the mailserver will no longer work.

funny thing, tested this thoroughly last night, it all worked perfectly well, woke up this morning and
rainloop says Can't connect to server

restarted the stack and still the same, as for postfix not working after restarting, i noticed the hostname i added to /var/spool/postfix/etc/hosts was gone so i re-added it
