I've added the opensearch namespace as per their documentation: http://www.opensearch.org/Specifications/OpenSearch/1.1#Autodiscovery_in_RSS.2FAtom

The W3C validator still doesn't like it, but feed readers seem to have no issues, so I guess I'll ignore the validator.

The other issues it points out appear to be improperly escaped content. Will appreciate suggestions on how to escape properly.

Feed readers like Thunderbird don't seem to work with the feed.

It seems like the issue is caused by some special/control characters (probably Windoze) in the form fields when creating a job listing. Maybe you can 'ignore' these before storing in a database by overriding the save of the ListingForm? I don't have a patch as I don't know how to reproduce the issue.

Guess I'll need better filtering at the input level then. Will look into it.

We haven't fixed the underlying problem. The problem post has merely expired. I'll look at this ticket if it happens again.
