You are free to create a pull request (against the branch develop please). You can derive Read,Show,Eq using deriving, Typeable as in Data.Tree, Data only on GHC using deriving (as in Data.Tree), and Traversable and Foldable manually. If you get to work on it, also add an NFData instance please.
As far as Generic is concerned, we currently provide no Generic instances at all. If you want Generic instances added, please follow the guidelines outlined on the Haskell Wiki (but use the GitHub facilities instead of GHC's Trac for submitting patches).
