At first I thought it was the Hugo version, the latest version is 0.117, I tried to return to 0.100, 0.80, 0.60, all have the same problem, then I wondered if it was a problem with the compilation platform, so I switched from macOS to Linux, and At the same time, I tried both Intel and M1 MacOS, and the same code box could not be rendered;
Use Chrome development mode to view, there is indeed no call to "chroma" in the code box area
💔It is very painful that my front-end knowledge is not deep enough. I can’t solve this bug for the time being.

It's that you need to configure it according to the latest hugo, for example using hugo.toml
