Could you please post the steps to reproduce the resulting error?

as an admin, add a new assignment activity with minimal settings, like the name and description. then, for this assignment, go "Edit settings". the warnings should be shown right away (given that you have the full debug mode enabled in "Development")

That behavior was due to using isset() on the $onlinejudge variable which considers a null variable to be set. However, it is now fixed with using !empty.
