Would it make more sense to just enable usage of arbitrary glyphs from arbitrary font families? The input would be UTF8 code of the glyph and the font family

Is there a way to call another font family within waffle? the package forces you to use use_glyph= which calls fontawesome. I would prefer to use WeePeople font as a glyph of choice.

Internally it just uses geom_text and that can use arbitrary fonts. Forked it to implement it at some point but don't know when I'll find the time.
If you have a specific font in mind you should be able to hard code it. Here's a good place to start.
