Where to place Android YouTubeDataApiKey in Capacitor project

Determined solution through much trial and error.

Editing capacitor.config.json mentioned above is not necessary, but did following on my capacitor android project.
Add <preference name="YouTubeDataApiKey" value="my_youtube_api_key" /> to app/src/main/res/xml/config.xml.
Add <string name="activity_name">my_bundle_id</string> to app/src/main/res/values/strings.xml - where my_bundle_id is like io.ionic.starter.

I added the following to capacitor.config.json:

  "cordova": {
    "preferences": {
      "YouTubeDataApiKey": "<my_youtube_api_key>"
    }
  }

Then ran npx cap sync. This added <preference name="YouTubeDataApiKey" value="[my_youtube_api_key]" /> to app/src/main/res/xml/config.xml. But still when I ran the code gave me the following:
AAPT: error: resource string/activity_name (aka <my bundle name>/activity_name) not found.

Pointing to code in debud/AndroidManifest.xml android:name="com.bunkerpalace.cordova.YouTubeActivity"`
