I think I can reproduce the first issue with the language. I think it's a bug in Elgg core that was introduced in Elgg 3.1 (it still worked as intended on Elgg 3.0). I've reported the issue (Elgg/Elgg#13582).

I can't reproduce the second issue with the images no longer showing up. Are you sure there's not a conflict with some other 3rd party plugin? Does it still not work with all other 3rd party plugins temporarily disabled? Is there anything in the error log of your server that might tell what's wrong? Without further information I can't help you here I'm afraid.

I checked the error log but there is no problem and I have disabled the related plugins such as Album Link and hypeWall-iZAP Videos and Tidypics and the problem is still what are the suggested solutions and how to discover the problem if it is on my side or there is a problem with the extension

What version of Elgg have you upgraded from and what version of Elgg are you using now? What version of Tidypics had you used before and are using now?

On the site settings page in the admin area you would have to set the debug log level to "errors and warnings" temporarily if you have turned of logging (recommended if you don't have a problem). If debugging is turned off you might not get the necessary log entries written to the error log.

You should turn off ALL 3rd party plugins except Tidpics temporarily AT THE SAME TIME. That's the fastest and easiest way to be sure that no other plugin causes the problem.

What's with other kind of files uploaded (e.g. files added with the Elgg core Files plugin - specifically images files). Can you still download them and are any images Files uploaded with the Files plugin showing up the preview images on your site.

Without and indication by error log entries I simply can't say what might be wrong. Other than log entries you would have to figure out yourself if there's anything wrong with the data directory (if you just updated that shouldn't cause any problems though).

The current version is 3.3.17 and the addition version is 3.3.2
I activated the error page and nothing appears
I have disabled the 3rd party add-on, but the problem persists
I have also uploaded image files that I can download and also you can see them when you click on them, the large display version appears and I uploaded them via Tidpics

any help

If I would know what's wrong I would tell you. But I have not really any good ideas what could cause the problem.

I had also asked what version of Elgg and Tidypics you have upgraded from. Knowing this I could at least try to reproduce the situation.

If you have not completely replaced the Tidypics plugin folder but just copied the new version over the previous version it might be that some files that are no longer included in the new version cause problem. So, do it this way: deactivate the Tidypics plugin, then delete the currenent tidypics plugin folder in the mod directory and then re-add the new Tidypics version to the server. This way you can be sure that no outdated files remain in the plugin folder.

Apart from that I really don't know why the image files should not show up on the site with the new version whereas you can still view the large image version and download them. Have you tried with another browser?

I did that step that you mentioned to delete the old version file and add the new one, but the problem still exists
I would also like to mention a point you made now, which is that the old images appear fine and it is not after updating the add-on. I think, but I am not sure that this happened after I moved the site to another server, but the site works fine

You moved your site to another server and mention it only in your 5th posting? It's a bit frustating that you did not tell this right from the start. I DO hope you also moved the complete data directory to the new server. If not, it's no surprise the image files within the data directory can't be displayed.

I'm quite sure the problem is caused by not doing all the steps necessary to successfully change the server. Read https://learn.elgg.org/en/stable/admin/duplicate-installation.html (AND READ ALL OF IT AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS ESPECIALLY ABOUT UPDATING THE DATABASE ENTRIES). Also make sure the file and directory permissions are alright and also the owner and group assigned to the files and folder are correct. If the ne server uses the open_basedir PHP parameter and/or SELinux, you also need to make sure the the server config is suitable for the webserver accessing the content of the data directory.

It's never a good idea to do a server migration and a site upgrade at the same time without making sure that everything still works after the first step (regardless if you start with the server migration or upgrade).

If you don't know what to do, please ask the support of your webhoster first to get any possible server config issues sorted out. I'm absolutely not willing to provide any support about anything else than Tidypics here. Actually, the github issue tracker here is also not for support but rather to report real bugs and issues connected with Tidypics. More general support should be asked for at the Elgg community site.
