I can reproduce the problem. This seems like a limitation of the underlying library. This doesn't help you but it means that there's no quick and easy fix. I switched to this new version because of some limitations of the old version. I'll have to think about this. This will take some time.

I have made a new version that doesn't fully solve the problem. But it should reduce the problem a lot, e.g. the problem in your screencast shouldn't occur anymore.

It would be great if you could test this version and let me know if it works so that I can upload it to ankiweb.

I inserted a screen recording of a new problem I found. I don't believe I have ran into the previous problem. But now when I make my input it makes the text shift to another line as if I'm pressing the "enter / return" button."

This behavior is intended if you use the category "class (other), wrapped in div" or if for the category "class (other)" you have selected the option "Surround with div tag".

Your screenshot shows that ctrl+alt+y (bold_yellow) uses "class (other), wrapped in div". If you recreate bold_yellow as "class (other)" does this fix your problem?

if this doesn't help:

• share you config: for this in the add-on config window (seen in the screenshot) click on "more" in the upper right, then on "Export button config to json" and share the contents of this file.
• could you try with all other add-ons disabled if you can reproduce the problem?
• what's your Anki version, does this happen with the latest version 2.1.26?

The previous problem is fixed. I'm going to continue using this version to test out the original problem. The original problem would happen every now and then ~40% of the time so I will see what happens with the new update I'm testing out.

I have used it extensively for making a ton of cards and have not run into any issues. However, I keep getting a notification that there is a recent update and I do not update to preserve the one you gave me. After maybe a few syncs I do however notice that the add-on is disabled and I try enabling it but does not work. I also try accessing the config but it is blocked. I try restarting Anki but it still keeps it disabled.

About the updating error: This was (luckily) a minor problem with one add-on config file. I'll try to avoid it in the future. I just updated the listing on ankiweb with the version from Friday. Once Anki has downloaded this version from ankiweb the update problem should disappear. If not let me know. When you find other bugs, also let me know.

I'll leave this bug open because the problem still is not really solved. I just added a workaround.
