Yes, java 8 will be supported by spoon and we begin to work about it. We hope a compatibility with it for the first quarter of this year.

I know I am late in checking this out. But is this support for Java8 in place? Will Spoon handle the Java8 implemented projects
Will this support Java9 as well?

Java 8 is working, Java 9 probably not when jigsaw is being used.
