Hello Carljm, I want to contribute to this. I am starting to read the source code before that if you would like to give me any advice from your side or any thing which will help me to understand the problem better.

Hi @Ksidd! On reviewing this issue, I think it actually doesn't make sense to fix in MonkeyType. MonkeyType's philosophy is to give pretty raw stubs that show you the concrete runtime types, and let the developer correct them as needed to use more abstract types (or write their own custom type rewriters to automate these corrections in the way they desire for their project). If we start rewriting various awaitables types from the stdlib (e.g. Future
, _GatheringFuture
) as Awaitable
, this obscures the concrete type and departs from that philosophy.
So I'm going to close this issue. Sorry to pull it out from under you! Feel free to look through the issue list for other possible contributions, we'd love to have you contribute!
