Yep, this is known and working as intended. We're hoping to get this fixed in V 1.0, but it's low on the priority list. A user committed a patch that removed event blocking, but the UX was really odd because the carousel would scroll as you moved. We want to lock it down.

Of course, when you have a vertical scroller, you won't be able to do this.

When you say low priority is there a possibility this won't be resolved for 1.0?

The reason I ask is it's a show stopper for the appMobi project I am currently working on, full screen horizontal carousel product images with product details underneath it, have currently had to reduce the vertical size so scrolling is still possible but not an intuitive experience for users,

Any suggestions on a possible resolution before 1.0? Can I disable vertical scrolling altogether?

Edit: No pressure, definitely appreciate the work you have all done, just keen to solve this issue without a re-design of the app

Unless someone else hops in and provides a solution, I don't see it on my plate for the 1.0 release. I've got limited time at work and other parts of the project I want to get out before hand.

I'm gonna give it a shot. Gonna use the post your referenced - https://github.com/appMobi/jQ.Mobi/pull/17 - as a starting point.

Awesome! I had it half way, but had to roll back because I was merging a bunch of commits and lost it.

Also, instead of the flag, I think we should make it work as if the flag is true. If the carousel is only filling the panel size, the scroller won't scroll anyways.

Nearly there. I've got it to work for the touchMove event, but getting strange results on touchEnd. I willl keep everybody posted on this issue.

I'm ignore the commit because the carousel isn't based off the latest version.
