Also interested in this, or a parsable output from vainfo, because i need to determine at runtime whether my hardware supports fixed function encoding to set the appropriate tune="low-power" switch in my vaapi gstreamer pipeline.

I currently do (python):

os.system("vainfo | grep VAProfileHEVCMain") == 0

A json parsable output would be nicer indeed.
