Is there a defined method for converting to/from Medley ({DSK, < > ;n) filenames to Unix filename format (slashes, ~n~)

It exists in the maiko code, and it is not exposed to Lisp. It also had to deal with DOS names with drive letters and backslash vs slash though we've not had that part of the code enabled for a while.

Hmm, if that code exists, is it possible to expose it as a subr? Otherwise it probably should be replicated on the Medley side, special versions of unpackfilename and packfilename.

It ought to be a method on an FDEV to get the underlying file system's representation of the name (as a string), but that could be supplied by a subr or a Lisp implementation that knows what the FDEV is going to be doing underneath.
