I'm going to create a VM on Virtualbox trying to reproduce the issue

I've tested it on a Live DVD of Manjaro and works out of the box, but maybe it has already some libraries that are missing on your system.

The LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable inside the AppImage also sees the system libraries on the host, so it is not completelly self-contained.

If we had a more detailed output, we could see what its missing.

Now I'll try to compare your output with the one from Manjaro to see what libraries are loaded.

The log changes when trying to load libpcre2-8.so.0 on Manjaro, and such library is available.

Is the package pcre2 installed on your system https://archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/pcre2/ ?
